Welcome to the website of the Doctorate in Applied Mycology (DMA), attached to the Center for Research in Applied Mycology (CIMA) of the Universidad Veracruzana. The DMA is a program that arises from the need to generate knowledge in the areas of Mushroom Biology and Chemistry from basic and applied research studies. Their interest is due to the fact that these organisms represent a potential source for producing biologically active and useful substances in areas such as medicine, agriculture and food, among other applications.

Despite this, and that Mexico is one of the countries with the greatest biodiversity, due to the large number of ecosystems present, interdisciplinary study for its use is still incipient in our country and even in Latin America.

Therefore, our commitments are:

Generate competitive researchers nationally and internationally, capable of conducting research in the areas of Fungal Biology and Chemistry.

Promote scientific and applied research in mycology to help solve current problems that affect our society, taking advantage of the biocultural richness of fungi in our country.

In accordance with the above, on this page we seek that our visitors can access timely information about our program and about the services we offer.

We also want the website to allow us to establish a bridge of communication with applicants, students and graduates.

We invite you to take a tour of our page and send us your suggestions and comments to enrich it.
