BIOPIC:

I am a full-time professor at the University of Veracruz where I also have different institutional responsibilities. I got my Ph. D. at CINVESTVAV-IPN with a grant from the CONACyT.  I have been a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York, USA, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, also in the USA. I teach at postgraduate programs in areas such as: research methodology and epistemology, globalization, education reform and policies in Higher Education, evaluation of public policies and discourse analysis. My research interests are on the intersection of public policy and some specific social problems such as education, social violence among others. I have published reviewed papers and books in both domains. I have worked as a consultant for the public sector and I am very interested in the civic participation in the government processes, in particular in the making of public policies. I am always looking for new opportunities for innovation and the production of knowledge. I was born in Coatepec, Veracruz and, although i have lived in different parts of Mexico and overseas, Xalapa is for me a small personal paradise where i got married to Lisseth Mariana Hernández and most of my family and friends live. You are welcome to write to me.
