Foundation of the program

OrientationThe educational program of the Master is characterized by the application of knowledge for the practical resolution of problems detected or for the improvement of processes in the short time, so it is established as a program with professional orientation.

 

Objectives ObjectiveTrain professionals in the Management and Exploitation of the Sugar Cane Agrosystems, with bases in the sustainable development of the crop, the optimization and control of processes, as well as, management and management of agribusinesses, that generate and apply knowledge in favor of the preservation of the environment.

 

Justification• Sugarcane is a renewable natural resource source of sugar, biofuel, fiber, fertilizer and many other products and by-products with ecological sustainability.• The activity of sugarcane agribusiness in Latin America and the Caribbean represents 44% of sugar production, 37% of sugar exports and more than 60% of total cane production.• In Mexico, there are 51 sugar mills distributed in 15 states of the Republic, the state of Veracruz has 19 active mills.• The needs and changes in the energy matrix make this crop important for the production of co-products, biofuels and in the processes of electrical cogeneration.• The sugar cane industry of Mexico is a strategic sector in the growth and development of the country. It requires changes in the productive, organizational, research, training and training models of highly trained and specialized resources• Since 1990 there is no leading institution for research, training and technology transfer in sugarcane in Mexico.• The Association of Sugar Technicians of Mexico (ATAM), as well as the Association of Sugar Technicians of Latin America and the Caribbean (ATALAC), demand the training of highly trained human resources for the most important agribusiness of the country and Latin America.• The Postgraduate of the Master in Management and Exploitation of the Sugar Cane Agrosystems has trained eight generations of high-level professionals in the field area of ​​sugarcane cultivation.• The Master’s degree needs to be at the forefront of knowledge in the global trends that the sugarcane agribusiness demands in the new productivity scenarios both in the field, factory, co-products and specialized services.

 

View• Be a Postgraduate recognized nationally and internationally for the comprehensiveness of the educational proposal and training of high quality human resources, focused on the development of knowledge that meet high standards; contributing to the expansion of a sustainable sugar agribusiness.

 

Mission• Train human resources that contribute to the development of a highly competitive and sustainable sugar cane industry, capable of projecting, directing and executing programs of applied technological development and teaching in sugarcane, linked to the agribusiness sector.

 

Goals• At least 70% of the students of each generation obtain the Master’s degree.• Mobility of 100% of students in national institutions and at least 30% of students in international institutions.• Active participation of students as speakers in at least one national or international event a year in collaboration with their tutor / director. Publication of at least one technical-scientific article during the time of Postgraduate courses; in teacher-student co-authorship, in national and / or international journals.
