The Master’s Degree in Earth Sciences is a recently created program at the Universidad Veracruzana. However, the research experience in the areas of Geosciences and Hydroclimatology – developed at the Center for Earth Sciences for 20 years and previously in the programs of Atmospheric Sciences and Civil Engineering – which are the areas where this master’s degree is focused, is very broad.
Examples of the above are the agreements and projects carried out between the Center for Earth Sciences and the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (CONAHCyT ), the National Seismological Service, the National Water Commission, the Civil Protection Secretariat of the State of Veracruz, as well as Geophysicists without Borders (United States), the University of Texas at San Antonio (United States), the International Atomic Energy Agency (dependent on the United Nations), among others.
The presence of natural phenomena at local, regional, national and global levels requires their continuous study, so the Master’s Degree in Earth Sciences covers a wide range of aspects both at a theoretical and applied level.
The Master’s Degree belongs to the National Postgraduate System (SNP) of CONAHCyT. The amount is granted by the organization itself as long as the applicants comply with the terms and requirements established in the call and will be subject to the budgetary availability of CONAHCyT.
