Description

The Master of Science in Energy Technology aims to train human resources of high level and quality, promoting the development of scientific thought and method, to provide a solution to problems in the field of energy and provide a space for discussion, training of human resources, demonstration, research and evaluation related to energy.

Orientation: Research

Justification

Since the establishment of the Center for Research in Energy and Sustainable Resources in 2011, the need to promote research in the region in the area of energy was detected. Currently, the Universidad Veracruzana offers bachelor’s degrees in mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, environmental, biotechnology and petroleum engineering at the Coatzacoalcos campus, therefore, a master’s degree program is considered relevant to continue with the training of human resources at the graduate level in the region.

The reactivation of the area and the economic growth will demand better living conditions, labor promotion, growth of the region and economic investment. That is why it is important to provide the community with a master’s degree program that allows the formation of human resources in the region, with the objective of providing training and preparation to be competitive in the labor and academic fields.

Having said this, the Master of Science in Energy Technology aims to train human resources of high level and quality, promoting the development of scientific thought and method, to provide a solution to problems in the field of energy and provide a space for discussion, training of human resources, demonstration, research and evaluation related to energy.

 

Mission
To contribute to the training of professionals in the exact sciences through a curriculum of Master of Science in Energy Technology that are able to develop the scientific method in theoretical issues and experimental aspects on problems related to energy, with recognition of quality, transparency and professional ethics.

 

Vision 
To be a master’s degree with national recognition in its graduate program mainly for the quality of its research products, the formation of graduate professionals in the southeast of the country and the high quality of its academic core, with professionalism and transparency in the area of Energy Technology.

 

Objectives

To train teachers with a high level of knowledge and skills to apply the scientific method that will allow them to propose solutions to problems in the development of energy technology.

Academics:

  • To offer a basic core of professors with national recognition, members of the National System of Researchers, with desirable profile and working in individual and collective LGAC in academic bodies.
  • To train professionals at a national level oriented to research and development of technological innovation for the socially responsible development of the southeast of the country.

 

Goals:
  1. 50% of the Master’s graduates will participate in prestigious academic outreach events, national congresses or publications in internationally recognized journals to report or disseminate the results of their research.
  2. Have a terminal efficiency of 50% per generational cohort.
  3. Maintain 30% of the basic academic core with the recognition of the National System of Researchers in a period of approximately 4 years from the entry of the first generation.
  4. At least 20% of the Master’s graduates per generation will carry out a short research stay and/or academic mobility.
