Research Profiles Index

The Master’s Degree is made up of a core of teachers from the academic body of international relations between China and Latin America, foreign trade and business in Latin America and China.

It is a group of distinguished scholars mostly with a Phd degree who have a relevant career, high theoretical and practical qualification, with experience in the subjects that will be taught, closely related to the Economy and Society of China and Latin America, evidenced for the professional work of each of the participants in the different countries involved, as well as for the generation of knowledge of them.

The Master in Economics and Society of China and Latin America develops the following Lines of Knowledge Generation and Application

 

N° 1: China-Latin America: History, Economy and Society.
Description

Study the general history of Chinese and Latin American civilizations from their origins to the current era. Emphasis is placed on the events that were most important in the formation of both civilizations, the emergence and development of their forms of government and their administrative systems, the characteristic cultural features of their peoples, the models of social and productive organization and the impact that has had in its evolution as nations the intervention of foreign powers

It assesses China’s accelerated economic growth and its international expansion that has been verified in a very short time. Check the transformations of a nation that, still in the 70s of the twentieth century, had high rates of poverty and technological backwardness.Proyecta los escenarios económicos globales para las próximas décadas y la perspectiva de China y América Latina en ese contexto.

N° 2: Business China-Latin America
Description

It is oriented to the study of the different cultural characteristics that influence the behavior of the social actors involved in the economic negotiations.

It instructs on the areas of competence and complementarity that prevail between the two regions.

Check the flow of Chinese investments in Latin America and Latin American investments in China.

Evaluate possible sectoral strategies that promote the realization of successful business between both regions.

The studies included in this Line are divided into the following thematic areas:

  • Industrial development and technological innovation in China and Latin America.
  • Scientific and technological exchanges between academic organizations aimed at strengthening investments in both directions.
  • Differentiated business conduct.

N° 3: International Trade
Description

Analyzes the expansion of interregional trade in goods and services, including aspects related to the long-term sustainability of these growing flows.

Study the legal and fiscal aspects, evaluation of products to export and import technicians and protocols in business relationships.

It evaluates the changes in China’s trade structure, the qualitative changes in exports and imports that it makes, and the participation in world markets as of the commercial opening.

It examines the commercial structure of China with respect to each of the countries of Latin America and the composition of their products and services, which are destined for the People’s Republic of China.

The studies included in this Line are divided into the following thematic areas:

  • Legal and fiscal aspects of exports and imports and business relationships, including the rules of the World Trade Organization.
  • Tariff structure of exports and imports and their requirements.
  • Composition of foreign trade by sectors and main products.
  • The business protocol between China and Latin American countries.
