Lines of Generation and Application of Knowledge

Student research projects are integrated into three Lines of Research and/or Application of Knowledge (LGAC) described below:

LGAC 1: Attention to the population with learning diversity

This line deals with the study of intellectual disabilities in the various stages of development, as well as language and neuromotor disorders that impact learning, in turn Down syndrome and those students with outstanding abilities, considering their  individual characteristics and context, for example their family, school, community, integral ecosystem. In this way, this LGAC deals with questions concerning the normal and pathological learning of individuals, relying on a field of Educational Psychology with an adequate methodology and primordial ethics.

LGAC 2: Attention to the marginalized vulnerable population

This line deals with the study of gender discrimination, as well as the population that belongs to multiple indigenous cultures. This LGAC addresses questions concerning social interactions and present forms of discrimination, related to gender and cultural marginality. Knowledge from the branches of sociology and anthropology are applied, considering Psychology from a multidisciplinary approach to understand and analyze the complexity of social problems that impact inclusive education.

LGAC 3: Attention to the population of social exclusion

This line is in charge of studying the phenomena of discrimination due to social status and specifically in the situation of street children and immigrants. In this way, this LGAC addresses questions concerning social problems related to the social stratum of each geographical context and specifically to children in a street environment who require multidisciplinary attention and particular to their life characteristics, therefore, knowledge is applied from other branches such as psychology, education, pedagogy, sociology and anthropology, in a multi and intra-disciplinary approach to investigate and intervene in these socio-cultural problems of education.
