The Master’s Degree in Management of Information Technologies in Organizations is directed as a quality postgraduate course that solves a need for professional improvement in the area of ​​information technologies (IT) and that has generated interest among graduates of different careers of the economic-administrative area, focusing not only on graduates of careers such as computer science, administrative computer systems or related careers, it also considers those careers whose study programs have a low percentage in subjects that have to do with the field of management of technologies such as: administration, accounting, international business, management and business management, among others; in such a way that it is intended to complement the training of undergraduate graduates with a professional postgraduate degree that allows them to manage current information technologies such as automated accounting systems, business simulators, electronic invoicing, management information systems, etc.

For the foundation of the postgraduate course, an analysis of the opportunities that arise in the South-Southeast Zone of the country was carried out, supported by the National Association of Faculties and Schools of Accounting and Administration (ANFECA), which is affiliated with the main public Universities and private which collaborated in the application of the instruments for students, graduates and employers; all this in order that the graduates can pursue a relevant postgraduate degree with the purpose of ensuring its viability and relevance based on the surveys carried out and the market study, results that showed that this Master’s degree satisfies the needs of study and additional preparation to those degrees in the area and that is unique in the region since it aims to provide IT management skills for graduates of business areas and in whose careers they have a minimum of educational experiences on technologies and when they reach the labor sector they have to deal with managing administrative, accounting and financial applications, all of them systematized.

It can be identified that Information Technology Management is a discipline that focuses mainly on process management, seeking to align technological services with the organizational structure that ranges from functional to operational activities, in addition to providing a order determined in the functions, process, procedures, activities and management tasks of the company. For what has been stated above, it is of vital importance that organizations, in coordination with administrative science professionals, adopt a service-oriented approach, generating added value, all this through; of IT management in the organization’s processes.

In recent years, it has been shown that organizations of all types and sizes require a significant change in their own management approach and that the incorporation of IT is necessary, which is why a trained human resource is required in the areas of business technology architecture, information technology governance, electronic accounting, reports and tax returns based on XML programming and management, accounting computer security, control and accounting records based on CFDI and XML, change management and configuration infrastructure, etc., which is why the importance of the current postgraduate program.

The primary objective of the postgraduate course is to be a benchmark of quality, through links with prestigious National and International Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), it should be noted that the Faculty of Accounting and Administration -Xalapa has collaboration agreements in the areas of business, academic, research and academic-student exchange links, with Universities such as the University of Havana-Cuba, the University of Informatics Sciences of Havana-Cuba, Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Autonomous University of Carmen, University Autonomous of Yucatan, among others; With these agreements, it is intended to strengthen the professional training of the teachers, in the same way with the social sectors, the teachers should be directed to be promoters of an improvement and impact in the management of IT; this in order to strengthen the development of professional practices. To this end, agreements have already been signed to carry out the aforementioned activities with government, business and civil organizations.
