Program Description

Justification

The Master of Science in Biological Processes is designed to train highly skilled professionals with a focus on research, emphasizing the multidisciplinary study of processes related to the biomedical, biotechnology, agricultural, food, chemical, and bioengineering sectors.

Vision

To be an educational program of excellence, firmly established within the National Postgraduate System (SNP), dynamic and flexible, with continuous innovation. It aims to be internationally recognized for its quality in training highly skilled professionals at the highest academic level through research, teaching, and the generation and application of new knowledge. This will promote the development of science and technology, with a focus on addressing challenges in the biological fields.

Mission

To train individuals of academic excellence, capable of conducting original scientific research and technological development, enabling them to diagnose, design, and implement innovative solutions to the major challenges faced by the biotechnology, chemical, biomedical, environmental, and bioengineering sectors. With a sense of responsibility and social commitment, they will promote sustainable development at local, national, and international levels.

Aim

To train highly skilled individuals capable of applying their knowledge in original, basic, and/or applied research that promotes the generation and application of knowledge to address social needs. Additionally, they will establish efficient and innovative processes involving or transforming biological resources.

Goals

  • Maintain terminal efficiency of at least 70% of graduates completing on time per generational cohort.
  • Present research results, either during or at the end of their studies, at a scientific and/or dissemination event for at least 50% of students.
  • Ensure that each member of the NAB has at least one annual scientific publication in refereed and/or indexed journals, or contributes a chapter to a specialized book, ensuring academic production with the students.
  • Maintain the current 90% of NAB professors recognized in the National System of Researchers (SNII) and ensure 100% have the Desirable PRODEP Profile.
  • Establish at least one research network per “LGAC” at both national and international levels.
