UV – Vickers Indentation Images Data Bank

These microscopic Vickers indentation images were obtained from Steel and Hafnium Nitride samples, acquired by a CCD camera implemented in the microdurometer Mitutoyo model HM-125, of Micro and Nanotechnology Research Center of  Veracruzana University (Boca del Rio, Mexico).

Online publication of this Data Bank started in July 2018; it will be ocasionally extended. Most images are of 640×480 pixels size and bmp format. Each image contains exactly one indentation footprint of approximately rhombic shape and aligned orientation. Size and position in the image of the footprint varies, also a slightrotation is possible.

Image Group 1:
68 indentation images obtained from Steel-316 samples and 2 samples of HfN, where the group shows specular-polished surface in the indentation image.
