As macroecologist, my research focuses on the consequences of extreme climatic events on species and populations and the development of conceptual frameworks for improvements to the criteria for assessing extinction risk from climate change. Focused on terrestrial vertebrates & protected area networks, I conduct vulnerability assessments to such risk factors and evaluations of the effectiveness of conservation investments. The latter in collaboration with colleagues from different conservation organizations. I have expertise in large-scale spatial analyses, population and metapopulation viability analyses & phylogenetic metrics for informing species conservation under global environmental change.
