The Universidad Veracruzana offers the Master’s program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (MEILE in Spanish), whose primary objective is to enhance the professional profile of teachers who are responsible for facilitating and expanding the teaching and learning of the English language and thus adapt it to the changes of the current social and contextual demands.
Mission
The Master’s program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (MEILE) has the mission of training critical, creative, innovative and purposeful professionals, prepared to optimize the teaching and learning processes at the various educational levels where they work. They will have the ability to effectively and efficiently use appropriate teaching materials and tools that respond to current and future educational needs within a framework of openness, respect, and tolerance. The misión was set in an attempt to promote equity, inclusion, the right to education, and environmental protection, by trengthening the formation of universal values in a globalized and intercultural context.
Vision
In the year 2030, the MEILE program is recognized as a quality program at a regional, national, and international level for being a leader in the training of competent teachers, in the creation and application of knowledge. Likewise, it is recognized as a Quality Postgraduate Degree, with validity from external organizations, which encourages the exchange of ideas, experiences, and innovative initiatives among members of the discourse community of specialists in English Teachinf as a Foreign Language, for improvement. and dissemination of teaching and learning processes in diverse contexts.
