The Master’s Degree in Philosophy and History of Ideas is focused on the training of researchers.
Justification
The curriculum of the Master’s program in Philosophy and History of Ideas (MFeHI), integrates three Lines of generation and application of knowledge (LGAC): 1) «Philosophy of history, epistemology and history of science», 2) «History of social, cultural and political ideas», and 3) «History of philosophical systems». These three lines of research articulate axes of the offer of courses in this master’s degree related to the LGAC of the Doctorate in Philosophy and in collaboration with the research groups and academic bodies of the Institute of Philosophy and other academic entities
Mission
To train specialists in basic and frontier research who can address philosophically, that is the scientific, technological, and humanistic debates and discourses present in the social reality throughout its history in a theoretical and reflective way; the graduates will be able to propose, through a critical balance, the conceptual bases of the intervention projects of public policies in education, culture, civic training, political participation and dissemination of knowledge.
Vision
By 2030 it is projected to consolidate the Master’s Degree as a program of academic excellence belonging to the National Postgraduate System – CONAHCYT, dedicated to research that analyses and reflects from the philosophy and history of ideas the educational, ethical, cultural, and social, political, scientific and technological problems, with the commitment of the incidence of the discipline in society, by the principles of sustainability and respect for human rights.
Objective
The Master’s Degree in Philosophy and History of Ideas aims to train researchers capable of reflectively participating in the debates and scientific, technological, and humanistic discourses present in history that have an impact on social reality, through a critical balance that establishes the conceptual bases of the intervention projects of public policies in education, culture, civic training, political participation and dissemination of knowledge.
