GENERATION LINES

Lines generation and / or application of program knowledge

The LGACs are consistent with the main causes of morbidity and mortality of the Mexican population, based on which the development of research projects of resident physicians revolves. During the course of research methodology in the first year the resident defines the topic and line of research to which his thesis project belongs and the methodological advisor is assigned according to the subject and experience in the specified line.

With the above, three LGACs have been defined, which are described below:

1. Chronic degenerative diseases: Through which it is intended to know more efficient diagnostic, screening and treatment strategies; knowledge about the clinical course of diseases, epidemiological scenarios, educational strategies that promote individual and family changes, family impact of chronic diseases and identification of family and individual risk factors. It includes conditions such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, systemic arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, ischemic heart disease, osteoarthritis, breast and cervical-uterine cancer, asthma, COPD, etc.

2. Maternal health of children and adolescents: Through this LGAC it is intended to know more efficient diagnostic, screening and treatment strategies; knowledge about the clinical course of diseases, epidemiological scenarios, educational strategies that promote individual and family changes, family impact of maternal-child and adolescent health as well as in the identification of family and individual risk factors. They include: Prenatal control with risk approach, Teen pregnancy, Obstetric violence, Family planning, Hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, Infectious diseases in childhood, Childhood obesity, Vaccination, Asthma.

3. Family: through this LGAC it allows to acquire information about family characteristics that influence the well-being of all its members: parents, children, and grandparents, uncles and siblings; as well as the creation of comprehensive family care programs and services that plan activities aimed at the promotion and prevention of this primary group. They include: family health, Family structure and functionality, Family education, Preventive actions in vulnerable families.
