For the development of research projects, the academics who participate as members and collaborators of the basic academic core of the master’s program in chemical engineering cultivate two Knowledge Generation and Application Lines (KGAL) that support and diversify the study program,<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Technological innovation and sustainable development<\/strong>.<\/em> This KGAL addresses the priority problem of toxic agents and contaminating processes, so it is focused on the approach and development of new technologies or, where appropriate, on the improvement and optimization of existing ones, with the objective of generating sustainable products, processes and services. The application focuses on addressing socioeconomic and environmental problems in the region and the country, through the implementation of novel strategies for the prevention, control and mitigation of pollution in water, air and land, as well as for the development of systems for generating clean and renewable energy.<\/li>\n
  2. Engineering of chemical and biological processes.<\/strong> This KGAL addresses priority problems of energy transition, as well as climate change and air quality, and is therefore focused on the design, analysis and implementation of chemical and biological processes, through the use of theoretical methodologies, such as modeling, simulation, control and process optimization, and their practical implementation through experimental design, monitoring and evaluation of processes, considering current and innovative technologies, for the optimal use of available resources and agro-industrial waste in the region and in the country.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
