This manual presents the experience that has been shared in two communities, one in the region of Los Tuxtlas and the other in the Zongolica region, both with an enormous diversity of orchids and a great need to generate economic alternatives for the inhabitants. Although the purpose is to promote the use of orchids as a non-timber forest resource, it is important to point out that the use of wild orchids requires the establishment of a management plan, and a request for authorization from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
