(INECOL) y la Dra. Mar\u00eda Cristina Mac Swiney Gonz\u00e1lez del Centro de Investigaciones Tropicales de la Universidad Veracruzana publican en conjunto un nuevo art\u00edculo cient\u00edfico titulado \u201cEcological niche structure and the interactive role of leaf-nosed bats (Chiroptera: Phyllostomidae) within frugivory networks: Another dimension of the niche centroid hypothesis\u201d, el cual fue publicado en la revista\u00a0<i>Ecology Letters.<\/i><\/p>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" style=\"text-align: justify\">En este trabajo se evalu\u00f3 si las poblaciones de murci\u00e9lagos que habitan en zonas con un clima m\u00e1s adecuado desempe\u00f1an un papel m\u00e1s activo dentro de las redes de frugivor\u00eda (interacciones entre murci\u00e9lagos y plantas cuyos frutos consumen) en los tr\u00f3picos americanos. Los primeros an\u00e1lisis mostraron asociaciones positivas en cuatro especies y una negativa en otra; sin embargo, estas relaciones dejaron de ser estad\u00edsticamente significativas tras aplicar correcciones estad\u00edsticas m\u00e1s estrictas. Aun as\u00ed, los patrones observados se mantuvieron consistentes, lo que sugiere la existencia de tendencias ecol\u00f3gicas reales.
