Demetria Mondrag\u00f3n del CIIDIR-Oaxaca, fue coordinador del simposio titulado \u201cCurrent knowledge and research perspectives on epiphytic plants in the Neotropics\u201d, que se llev\u00f3 a cabo el 1ro de julio del 2025 durante el 61st Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC). Este evento se realiz\u00f3 en Oaxaca de Ju\u00e1rez, del 29 de junio al 4 de julio. En el simposio se presentaron un total de diez ponencias orales sobre resultados obtenidos en proyectos realizados por investigadores y estudiantes de diferentes instituciones ubicadas en Alemania, Inglaterra y Estados Unidos, as\u00ed como en los estados de Oaxaca, Veracruz y Yucat\u00e1n, incluyendo la titulada \u201cImpact of land-use change on vascular epiphytes\u201d impartida por el Dr. Kr\u00f6mer. Entre los otros ponentes destacaron el profesor Gerhard Zotz de la Universidad de Oldenburg, la Dra. Catherine Cardelus de la Universidad de Connecticut, la M. en C.
