The Dead's Party among Yaquis
On the first day of November, Yaqui women put on the altar a white embroidered tablecloth. Then they place on it dark dough tamales, corn, blessed water and fruit.
Two priests accompanied by four singers approach the altar. Yaqui men tie a handkerchief around their neck and women wear a skirt and a shawl.
People pray and at the end of the ceremony, the priests, who are sure that the dead have already tried the food, share it out among the audience.
