La segunda edición del Festival Internacional Jazzuv se celebro del 30 de noviembre y al 5 de diciembre de 2009, dónde se dieron cita los mejores exponentes del jazz contemporáneo. A lo largo del festival los asistentes pudieron disfrutar de clases maestras sin ningún costo, así como conferencias y mesas redondas abiertas a todo el público. Dichos eventos tuvieron lugar en diferentes sedes de Xalapa como: el Teatro del Estado, La Tasca, La Tavola, El Ágora de la ciudad, Casa del Lago UV, el Café Teatro Tierra Luna y por supuesto en las instalaciones de Jazzuv dónde el público tuvo la oportunidad de convivir con jazzistas de la talla de Nir Felder, Eddie Gómez, Osmany Paredes, Dave Samuels, Rafael Alcalá, Francisco Mela o Leo Corona entre muchos otros.
Los expositores más sobresalientes del género convivieron durante una semana con el público, abriendo así, los canales del diálogo entre artistas, aficionados y especialistas del género. Otras destacadas personalidades del jazz que hicieron aparición durante el festival fueron: Edgar Dorantes, Miguel Cruz, Raúl Gutiérrez y entre muchos otros, algunos de los cuales laboraron en Jazzuv. Todo el evento fue enriquecedor tanto para el público como para los artistas ya que les ofreció diferentes puntos de vista, así como otras formas de conocer y hacer la música.
Para la difusión de éste encuentro se contó con la presencia de periodistas, escritores y difusores del jazz tales como Guillermo Cuevas, Germán Palomares, José Hosiasson, Don Lucoff, Luc Delannoy, Xavier Quitarte, Carlos Rufo, Oscar Martínez, Pablo Argüelles y Rafael Figueroa.
El último día del festival se celebro en Casa del Lago UV, alrededor de las 6 de la tarde, donde además de los conciertos, los asistentes pudieron disfrutar de una zona “Lounge” patrocinada por la disquera internacional Putumayo Records. Finalmente el festival cerró con broche de oro a las 23:30 horas con la presencia de la Sonora JazzUV, dirigida por Raúl Gutiérrez en compañía de solistas del festival.
Second International JazzUV Festival (2009)
The second edition of the international Jazzuv Festival was held from November 30th to December 5th, 2009, where it gathered the best exponents of contemporary jazz. Throughout the festival attendees enjoyed master classes at no cost, as well as lectures and round table discussions open to the public. These events took place in different venues of Xalapa such as: el Teatro del Estado, La Tasca, La Tavola, El Ágora de la ciudad, Casa del Lago UV, el Café Teatro Tierra Luna and of course in the Jazzuv facilities where the public had the opportunity to get along with jazz musicians of the stature of Nir Felder, Eddie Gómez, Osmany Paredes, Dave Samuels, Rafael Alcalá, Francisco Mela or Leo Corona among many others.
The most outstanding exhibitors of the genre lived together for one week with the public, thus opening the channels of dialogue between artists, amateurs and specialists of the genre. Other out-standing personalities of the jazz who appeared during the festival were: Edgar Dorantes, Miguel Cruz, Raúl Gutiérrez and many others, some of whom worked in Jazzuv. The whole event was an enriching experience to both the public and the artists since it offered different points of view, as well as other forms of knowing and making music.
In order to disseminate this encounter there was the presence of journalists, writers and distributors of jazz such as Guillermo Cuevas, Germán Palomares, José Hosiasson, Don Lucoff, Luc Delannoy, Xavier Quitarte, Carlos Rufo, Oscar Martínez, Pablo Argüelles and Rafael Figueroa.
The last day of the festival was held at Casa del Lago UV, around 6 in the afternoon, where in addition to the concerts, attendees were able to enjoy a lounge area sponsored by the international Putumayo Records label. Finally the festival closed at 23: 30 hours with the presence of the Sonora JazzUV, directed by Raúl Gutiérrez in company of soloists of the festival.
